Author Signing a huge success at the Library

The Manchester Library held its first Author Signing on Saturday, January 19th in conjunction with the kick-off of their Adult Reading Program, “Book Your Winter Getaway.”

Twelve authors from the Middle Tennessee area were on hand to meet and greet and sign copies of their books. Many patrons were in attendance for this special event, which was topped off with refreshments served in the periodical room.

Front row l to r:  J. G. Sumner, Polly Patterson, Mike Oliver, J. T. Ellison, A. D. Boller.
Back Row l to r:  Linda Winters, Michelle Perry, Janice Lynn, Ann Moore, Michael Bradley, George Hearing, Weldon Payne.

Meet the authors:

A. D. Boller talks to a young fan.  A. D.’s first book, “Buckwheat, Please Come Home,” is based on true events and is the first storybook in the Buckwheat and Riley Roberts series to come.”

Ann Moore and her grandaughter.  Ann’s book “Two Kinds of Lines” is a story of teamwork—the combination of two kinds of lines, which together can make all the shapes in the world.

Ann Moore and Janice Lynn greet patrons.  Janice Lynn has 3 books currently in print:  “Jane Millionaire,” “The Doctor’s Pregnancy Bombshell,” and “The Heart Surgeon’s Secret Son.” To learn more about Janice and her writing, visit http://www.janicelynn.com.

George Hearing and J. G. Sumner display their books.  George’s “Mealfest” is a quick reference guide to being positive, staying competitive, and it instills in its readers motivation to enjoy the work and the environment of restaurants.  J. G. Sumner’s “The Use of Power” is an action packed adventure with a message that takes the reader on a feel-good ride with America’s most believable superhero.

J. T. Ellison is the author of “All The Pretty Girls” and has short stories widely published, including “Prodigal Me”, featured in the anthology “Killer Year: Stories to Die For.”

Polly Patterson’s first book, “Deliver Me, Deliver You” traces the path of her tumultuous journey through life.

Welson Payne makes a new friend.  Weldon is the author of “Lonesome Time,” “A Taste of Time” and his weekly column for The Manchester Times, “Through the Pane.”

Go directly to all Tennessee newspapers

As a Tennessee resident you now have full text access to the four metropolitan Tennessee newspapers.

The Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) now provides full-text content of Chattanooga Times-Free Press, The Commercial Appeal (Memphis), Knoxville News-Sentinel, and The Tennessean (Nashville).

Some features of iBistro will not work with AOL

The problem is that AOL does its caching in a way that is not in keeping with the industry standards for iBistro; the AOL caching does not handle the session identifiers correctly.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do since iBistro is standards compliant, but AOL has decided not to use these standards.

We recommend that you try using Internet Explorer or Firefox with your AOL acct.

Wireless Internet now Available

We are pleased to add wireless Internet access for patrons who would like to bring their laptop computers to the library.

This service is free to our patrons and is only available during library hours. To use the service, just stop at the circulation desk to obtain a login. This login is good for one day.

Please review any information pertaining to your computer wireless network settings before coming to the library so that you will be able to configure your laptop correctly.
