Online Catalog:
To browse our genealogy collection from iBistro (the online catalog), click on “Switch to Power Search” icon. Under second group of choices, for Library choose Manchester from the drop-down box and for Location choose Genealogy. Click the Search button. This will give a listing of all items in our genealogy collection that have been catalogued. By clicking on “Full Details” to the left of the record, more specific information can be obtained. For example: several microfilm rolls are entitled “Coffee County Register of Deeds.” By clicking “Full Details” it can be learned that Roll A-7336 covers Vol. 137-139, Aug. 1972 through April 1973.
Volumes containing specific family names can be displayed by typing “Jones family” or “Smith family,” etc. in the “Words or phrases” box. (Note: If only 10 volumes appear under Jones family, this does not necessarily mean there are only 10 books with the Jones name in it, but that the Jones name has been catalogued with only 10 books.)
Family History Files:
There is also a file cabinet that houses family histories and genealogies provided by genealogists to share with others researching the same names. Researchers are invited to leave copies of their research information, or to make copies from files.
No genealogy material is available for Interlibrary Loan.
